Okay so for anyone getting married at Meadowlark Gardens you are officially fore warned that the Gardens close at 8pm on Saturdays! Brooke and Steve found this out the hard way.

Talk about the perfect day, the perfect light, and the picture perfect couple! We started off at the church doing some shots just of the exterior that Brooke’s Mom really wanted, then headed to Brooke’s home to start off our coverage of their blessed day. This was our second wedding this weekend and the second couple in a row that inspired us to think long and hard about our own faith as we listened to the beautiful sermon that was given by one of Steve’s dear friends. I have heard many sermon’s, we are big fans of WASH FM’s Sundays with McLean Bible Church in the morning. I think as one gets older they tend to think more in regards to their faith and where it leads them in their life. Okay anyways enough about that back on to the day as it was very eventful….

The day ran pretty smooth up until about 8pm when our lovely couple wanted to chase the sunset at the lake in the gardens. Shortly after heading out a cart comes speeding after us literally coming to a screeching halt when this young girl jumps out to tell the couple that the gardens are closed and they are not allowed to take pictures in the gardens. Heart broken both of them are begging and pleading for just 15 minutes only to be told “No.” and that they could take pictures closer to the building in the very same gardens but not by the lake which was staring them right in the face with perfect light! Then there we were, The Regeti’s thinking about what to do when it dawned on us that we are hired by the bride and groom and will have to follow them where ever they go….. So they decided that they were going to take their shots anyway….

Anyone who knows Steve would certainly peg him as the sweet southern hospitable gentleman which he is and stills upholds his status today as he told the young lady that he meant no disrespect however him and his wife were going to just be 15 minutes and would be right back as they high tailed it to the pond as we chased after them! Talk about exercise! We rushed out after them to finish what we could before being chased out and yelled at a little more! Okay so not our exact idea of getting great shots but we got some good ones either way!

One of my favorite heartfelt moments with Brooke and Steve was the way that their heads just leaned in towards one another upon the dinner prayer. I could not help but jump in to get a shot as it just made our hearts melt! One thing that stuck within us from their ceremony was that during the beautiful sermon they spoke about statistics and the fact that couples who pray and read scripture together tend to stay together. It was such a strong sermon and one that I am sure that everyone was able to enjoy and take something away from. Another heart sweeping moment was that of Brooke with her Nanna, who is by the way 94! The love Brooke has for her Nanna was very noticeable throughout the whole night even during the send off as Brooke wanted her right up front so that she was the last one she saw when she departed! We wish our couple and their family a very happy and blessed journey in their newly joined lives!

Keith and Natalia were married at Raspberry Plain in Loudoun County in the beautiful country side. We already knew that Natalia was going to make a beautiful bride before she stepped into her gown, but man was she stunning! She has this subtle glow about her that speaks so many words in itself in one single glance, there is no measure of words to describe what an incredibly beautiful stunning bride she was…

As for Keith I think he is our first official nervous groom, handsome as ever but just simply nervous! Once Natalia made her way down the isle to him and their vow exchange began you could just see him settle into comfortable with Natalia by his side everything seemed like it would be alright. As they exchanged vows hearing the crackle in Keith’s voice was enough to guarantee his love for Natalia is truly made to last forever. Along with the return of her vows to Keith through her tears and laughter were enough to lead one to believe that they will be promised joy and laughter together for many many years to come!

With friends and family by their side their ceremony was enough to make even a blind and deaf man understand and be reminded of his faith. Their outdoor ceremony was followed by their indoor reception. This wonderful night will be one that they will live to cherish and reflect on for many years to come. Thank you Keith and Natalia for allowing us to share in the joy of documenting your grand affair!

Okay so that is where our couple met and their romance began! We are not too crazy about having the church put too many restrictions on how we can capture the emotion of a couples day and are still stumped at why so many still do so, however can only imagine in the past on how many occasions photographers may have been very obtrusive in getting a traditional shot or disrespectful and running all over the sanctuary during the ceremony, but it will forever haunt us that we aren’t able to get the parents expressions from the back of the church. We just feel so darn awful for our couples as their photographs are so very important to them. Either way our couple did not let this rain on the wedding day, after all the weather was too beautiful for that!

Their reception was at the beautiful Belle Haven Country Club, deejayed by the sweetest man we know Mr. Kirk of Kirkabees, videography provided by Vince with Atlantis Imagery, beautiful floral arrangements provided by the one and only lovely Linda Merritt with Heaven on Earth Wedding Flowers!

Below you will also find some infrared shots that we took during MaryBeth’s wedding as well. We have a huge infrared fan club so we thought that we would share a few!

For those of you unfamiliar with infrared we were trying to think of how to explain it more simply but found it a little difficult however we thought that we would try anyway!

Infrared (IR) radiation is electromagnetic radiation of a wavelength longer than that of visible light, but shorter than that of radio waves. The name means “below red” red being the color of visible light with the longest wavelength. The uses of infrared include military, such as: target acquisition, surveillance, homing and tracking and non-military, such as thermal efficiency analysis, remote temperature sensing, short-ranged wireless communication, spectroscopy, and weather forecasting. However it has become quite popular among many of today’s modern brides and is being requested more frequently in the industry.

This little boy was too cute to pass up as he lives across from the church and was yelling “Hi!” to MaryBeth and Rich, it was after we got home and were able to look at the image as we shot it from across the street that we notice how adorable it was that this little boy was standing at the gate with what appears to be his daddy’s grass cutting shoes!
