Many weddings today are forgoing an official send off of the couple, however it may be something to seriously consider escpecially if you are planning to have an album of your special day made. The send off is the perfect ending to the perfect beginning. If you aren’t anticipating a formal send off you may want to ask your photographer for a nice night shot of your venue to perhaps end your album with.

Brooke and Stefan

As these two are awaiting their wedding day in September we took the evening to go out and meet them in Frederick MD for a quick e-session down town. This was the first time that we had ever been in down town Frederick and what a cool little town it is. We were actually picked up right aftre the session by the owner of a cool little salon down town called The Temple which is a partnership school with Paul Mitchell. The school/salon is awesome for any of you in the area who need to get your hair done or are looking for a great rate on some really awesome talented stylists for your wedding day! Or better yet if you wanted to go back to school to become a stylist!

I-sha and Brent

Unfortunately we were not the photographers for I-sha and Brent’s wedding however they wanted to have some nice couples shots that were unfortunately missed out on during their wedding day itself. They were troopers to head back out to the Newton White Mansion where their wedding took place during this hot day in June in order to take a few last shots in her beautiful gown!

MDA Camp 2007

MDA to us is a very special kind of association! We started donating our services to the MDA in 2006 to help document the service that this association is providing to these families and children who suffer from the many muscular diseases out there. We feel that by contributing and giving of our creative talents that in some way it will help the Association bring in more funds to keep the dream alive! Here are just a few of the many shots that we took during the day that we spent at the camp with the kids.

The pictures truly cannot begin to describe the complete story of the images as they can certainly help you to conclude a lot in a very deep way, unless you are there and take part in the experience itself you will never know, however there are a couple photos that I would like to provide a little bit of narration on.

The image of the young man on the motorcycle with one of the Harley gentlemen to me is one of my favorite. I personally am not a motor cycle junkie nor a Harley fan but the reason I love this photo so very much is because I was there and was able to see the happiness in this young mans face as he was placed onto this bike. The owner of the Harley quickly swooped off his hat and bent down to place this young man’s foot into his cap before placing it near the plates on the bike. It was awe invoking and heart wrenching within the same breathe.

The second image that I wanted to narrate on is that of the few photos that feature some very important Chiefs and members of the Fire Fighters Assn. which many of us are quite familiar with for their Fill-the-Boot campaign that they do for these children making them the highest contribution to the Association. These individuals really think the world of these children as the children do of them. In the one image where the chief is shaking hands they spoke of him as if he were better than meeting the President of the USA to me that is an honor within itself. The other image where you see another member of the Fire Fighters Assn. was at one point on the phone narrating to someone on the other end about what a wonderful service this camp provides to the kids’ and how he had enjoyed coming out to see what it means to the children to be part of it.

Every year I awake to reality from spending a day at camp with these kids and it certainly makes me proud and honored that we are able to help in some small way.

RP Tip #12: Referred/Preferred Vendors

Disclaimer: RP Tips are based solely on our experiences as full time wedding photographers and posted at our discretion. RP Tips may not suit everyone’s wants or needs. RP Tips are offered as a benefit to brides planning their wedding day in an effort to get the best results from a photographer from our stand point. RP Tips are a trademark of Regeti’s Photography owned and operated by Amy and Srinu Regeti.

As we are beginning to book for summer of 2008 we thought that it would only be appropriate to make brides aware of referred/preferred vendors as we are seeing a lot more venues pushing this onto their booking brides. We feel that it is important to educate our clients and those out there planning their weddings in order to avoid conflict as it is not always stated up front by the venue itself.

Some venues charge referral fees to their vendors should the bride be referred to their services via the venue sites prompting. This can often be any where from 10-30% of the clients booking rate and often the client may incur this should they decide not to use a preferred vendor.

The major draw back of this can be if the venue is in fact charging a fee and pushing the vendor simply because they get a small portion from the referral. This can often be found by simply asking “Why it is they like that vendor so much?” Some venues on the other hand do refer genuinely in the best interest of the client and often it is that venue that is more concerned about the quality of service and product that the client receives from the vendor thus the importance of handing out such a list.

We hope that this RP Tip helps you better understand and be aware of how important it is to ask about vendor fees and how the venues referral list actually works.

RP BD Sessions

At this time we are referring BD inquiries out to http://www.boudoirphotographers.net as we will not be scheduling any new BD sessions until December 2007. Our current schedule is booked solid therefore we cannot take any further boudoir clients for 2007 at this time.

Kindest Regards,
Amy and Srinu

We are back!

We are back from Chicago and getting caught up here on emails and phone calls. We ask that everyone be patient with us as we are out again tomorrow to photograph TANA (Telugu Association of North America) as we have been announced as the official photographers for the event. We are honored that we have been asked to cover the event!

Unfortunately for our clients and catching up that may set us back until next week as we have decided to take the kids to Yogi Bear campground for a little time away from the hustle and bustle of our daily crazy Regeti lives that we love so much!
