Delice and Jeff will be married in August of 2009 so the count down begins! We had the opportunity to head out to Old Town Alexandria to shoot their engagement session and luckily enough were in and out before it got too hot or too crowded. Our talented Lisa Lutz on the hair and make-up which was beautifully done as well. They will be married here in Warrenton at the lovely Poplar Inn Spa and Resort which we just love!
Today the kid’s went back to school while a happy day, it was also very sad too. All my little ones are not home now… while my heart is breaking at the moment I am sure that it is a feeling that one can get used to, as soon as I remember what I used to do before they were such a huge part of our lives. Time truly does pass you by, just when you think life is as good as it gets you wake up to realize that some of the best things in life change in the blink of an eye. Just yesterday my youngest was 6 months and now they are all telling us where they want to school shop and which one of us should take them! To say the least they are a bit partial to their dad!
We had the opportunity to meet with our make-up and hair stylist’s Mom for some head shots for her new venture into the go green zone 
Angela Melton, RN happened to introduce us to a new line of “green” earth friendly cleaning products as well as a new approach to losing the unwanted weight and keeping it off through a new program that is not a diet but something to live by called “Cinch” the inch loss program. It is a totally different approach to something that at times seems so complex, losing weight! I believe I am going to have to put it to the test to see just how well it works!
Just a little update on our “Golden”, Gynger Lynn! She is officially almost 5 months old and just getting bigger! We thought we would share for all the blog followers who often ask about her and for all the dog lovers’ out there who can never see too many cute puppy photos!
It is usually custom in the Indian customs and traditions that when a young girl becomes a teenager that she has what is called a “Half Sari Party”, the half-sari is a transition from the pavadai to the sari, from girlhood to womanhood. It prepared a young girl for the more cumbersome 6-9 yards of fabric that is used to make sari’s.
While Sriya is only 10 she seems so much wiser beyond her years and talk about the most polite and pleasant girl, that she is! An RP first we had the opportunity to photograph her party as well as meet a few old faces as well as new!
Dr. Divakaruni and his wife who are the parents of our past Bride and Groom, Haritha and Chris who were married 2 years ago. We also met the owner of Tandoori Nights who has two locations one in MD and one in VA. He and his wife operate and manage the restaurant together and the food and service is out of this world! It has been a very long time since we have had Indian food this superb! I think we have found our new favorite place to eat!
Congratulations Sriya! You were so beautiful and a joy to photograph! We look forward to watching you grow~!
Just below us in our new studio just opened a fun place called “Toddlin’ Time” which focuses around creative play for children 4 and under (at the moment anyway as Melissa is intending to expand on her offerings!) We dropped in to catch just a few shots of all the craziness during their grand re-opening this past Saturday and were able to also grab a few quick shots of owners Rob, Melissa, and their two children along with some great ones of the kids exploring! We wish them continued success with the program as their location may be new, Toddlin’ Time is very well known to all!
Soumya and Tej, I know you are thinking “What happened to our post?”, well here it is! Sorry for the delay guys, as you know we are in the midst of moving to our new space so the blog has taken somewhat of a back seat for a moment till we were able to buckle down and get it all caught up!
We had such fun with Tej and Soumya at their wedding in Falls Church at the Parkview which has the most chic decor inside, as they both are just a hoot and as crazy as can be! Soumya is such the sport as Tej always brings in some comic relief. He has all these goofy ideas and we just loved it! If only we had more time with them!

We’re sure that by now most people know and realize that the Regeti’s are up to anything that involves putting little love in it! Nicole and Kate have hired us to document their commitment ceremony that will be held in DC later this year. Having never documented a commitment ceremony we met with them with an open heart and mind. They were just as nervous as we were as Kate was so set on having us capture their commitment, I remember how nervous she was the evening when they met with us! It is so important to us as a team to be comfortable when photographing each one of our couples and we really were not sure till we met with them as to whether we would be the right fit as their photographers. Very quickly after they arrived we all were laughing and sitting around like we had been best of friends forever. We appreciate that they would trust in us to document something that is so special and important to the both of them.
