As the Regeti’s resume their normal posting schedule, Happy Halloween to everyone! We hope that you had as much fun as we did. Ben and Jess (Our Associate Team, more about them this upcoming week!) came over and we rocked the candy bags! Oh, do I remember being a kid and my parents giving me the routine quote of “We have to check your bags to make sure that no one put anything bad in them.” Yeah right, goodness we were SUCKERS! Now history has a way of repeating itself as I steal the Hershey’s Milk Chocolate and Jess’ steals some Nerds! What fun would Halloween truly be if traditions were not carried on

For the first time this year all the kids were able to pick their costumes with only one rule to be applied, okay well two:

(1.) Nothing violent or with lethal weapons.
(2.) Nothing gory or that involves blood and guts.

I think we did a fine job as eveyone picked their own individual characters. The funnest part is searching the blog for our past “Halloween” (enter this into the search) photos and seeing how much they have grown and are becoming independent individuals. That in itself is scary and I say “Boo!”.

Have I ever mentioned how much we love to photograph weddings? We had the perfect everything this past Saturday, but the weather and we all know that is one thing we cannot completely predict. And yet everything was still so perfect! Grant is probably the most emotional groom that we have photographed in a while and he totally wore it on his sleeve on his wedding day. He was nervous yet so calm. As he approached the door to the tent you could see him taking deep breaths as he fought the tears from just pouring down. He struggled with this the whole way through the ceremony right till the end until he could consume himself with the fact that he was finally married!

Elizabeth, Grant’s better half was equally the same in her calm and quietness leading up to her walk down the aisle and even with the gloom of the clouds and the down pour of the rain she was yet so positive throughout it all. She handled it as if the sun was shining down and there was nothing that could take this day from her even that rain!

With our very laid back couple and the calm of the storms we were able to get some nice couple shots as well as some outdoor shots of the beautiful tent that they were married in! And hopefully now they are somewhere warm with the sun shining down on them for their honeymoon! Liz and Grant I hope you all are living it up like you deserve!

Kirk of Kirkabee’s as it is always a pleasure and a fun evening when he is behind the table deejaying, Linda Merritt with Heaven on Earth for the awesome florals, Brian over there at The Stone Manor Country Club in Middletown Maryland, Kim Giammaria for the flawless make-up, Beverly for the perfect hair (Sorry ladies, no website. But here is her info Beautiful Hair by Beverly, Act II Haircutters, 10621-G Braddock Rd., Fairfax; 703-300-2055) and Atmosphere Lighting for the beautiful ambiance that they created! As always it was a great day working with everyone!

Either way they’re both just as great as the other! We had the privelidge of being present during Kate and Nicole’s commitment ceremony in Dupont at the beautiful Women’s Democratic Club. We remember so vividly when we met and were contacted the first time by Kate as she really wanted us to photograph her and Nicole’s commitment ceremony, so much so that dates were even changed and reconsidered to do so. Talk about pressure! I think that Kate and Nicole were just as nervous as we were leading up to their consultation with us, not so much because they were having a same sex marriage, but from our side more so because we knew how much Kate loved our work and we did not want to let her down. Having never documented a commitment ceremony we wanted to be sure that we could do their images the justice they deserved without feeling as if we weren’t conveying their feelings and personalities within the images we captured. After we met with them it was obvious that Kate and Nicole were definitely a good fit and that we would have no problem covering their ceremony just as it unfolded. They were both surrounded by friends and family who had traveled from near and far to witness their commitment to one another and Srinu and I cannot remember the last time we were at such a happening party where it was non-stop on the dance floor with a live band that we absolutely loved! Total shout out to them Dan Haas was the band and they were just awesome. Thanks so much to you both for entrusting us with your memories, we are looking forward to keeping in touch!

We know that you guys have been super patient with us considering you were married over 2 weeks ago and we are just now finding the opportunity to blog a few of our favorites! Just a proven fact that time can get away from us and before we know it, it’s gone!

Sonya happens to be the best friend of a past Bride who everyone had seen on the blog not too long ago and most will remember her familiar face as our bride who was married on the day of hurricane Hanna, the beautiful Shejal and handsome Joshua and if you look back you will notice Sonya’s debut as well, or maybe not. I think most of Sonya’s friends were even blown away when seeing her as she is typically in her scrubs most of the time, but not on this very wonderful day, she was breath taking and accompanied by her now most handsome hubby, Vivek! You certainly won’t find a more down to earth and well entwined pair as they compliment one another so well. We are looking forward to keeping up with all the girls as they get married and move into family life. We wish you both lots of peace, love and happiness as you take on the world!

For many of you, your wondering where are we? We are here, there, and everywhere! Literally and we have so much to share with everyone including 2 wedding posts, some VPPA (Srinu and I were the guest speakers for the October VPPA meeting.) after thoughts and after party photos … kind of! And of course more great photos of our lunch with Sylvia and a few very select event professionals this afternoon some of which we have heard so much about, but have yet to meet! The luncheon was to feature some of the areas local cupcake bakers and to help with the launch and promotion of Sylvia’s newly released book called “Sensational Cakes”. Sylvia is one of those people where even though you have not known them forever once you’re in the room with her you would have thought that you had. We truly feel when people speak from their heart the words that are conveyed become part of you and that is what Sylvia did, one of the things she said today that will stay with me forever is “Celebrations restore your spirit and soul.”, that people regardless of hard times will always celebrate and with that our jobs are pretty secure. How much closer to the truth could that be. Thanks Sylvia for coming out and spending time with all of us this afternoon.
