Today is the big day when the nominees for the Capitol Awards will find out who will take home the “glass”, or award shall we say! Srinu and I have been nominated under two categories and whether we bring home the final award or not we are simply delighted and honored to be recognized internationally among so many very talented and hard working event professionals considered to be the finest in their industry. We are pleased to have been simply nominated and are looking forward to attending the Gala this evening. Can’t wait to see everyone there!

Not only do we have the honor of being featured in the latest issue of Engaged! Magazine once, but with two of our fabulous weddings this issue! Mikel and David’s wedding was just photographed after Allison had already been interviewed and we could not have been more pleased and at the same time over joyed by the quality and devotion that is so obvious through the publications content. We so believe in this publication for many of reasons, but mostly because you can tell that the Editor really publishes the magazine from her heart as you slowly flip through the pages enjoying not only the awesome photography throughout, as Issacson Studios does a awesome job with the editorial work and as always the photography that she displays is usually always top notch, portraying some really awesome events in our region and beyond!

What a crazy week as we prepare for the ISES Gala tomorrow!
A referral from a past bride and groom, Piper and Andrew (Big thanks to by the way for leading Brian and Mariska to us!) Brian and Mariska were married in Chevy Chase, Maryland during a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Woodend. We were fortunate that Sunny decided to tag along with us for this one. With a ceremony that lasted less then 10 minutes, this one has to be record breaking, for us anyway! These two were truly all about family, friends, food, fun and their photographs! So pardon all the food shots, but Windows Catering did an awesome job on the food presentation and we totally took advantage. And the herd of deer that ran through the field during their reception! Everyone was having such a grand time that I think they forgot we were even there! Thank goodness for that as we just shot the night away while Brian brought his dance moves to the floor!
On Monday the entire team got together for a little team building in order to handle a few details before we all get into our wedding season. It was great to have everyone together as we all tend to come and go not always able to connect at the same time. When something that wonderful happens it needs to be documented! Would you not agree? j/k. Well not completely, we thought it would be a great time to take a few shots and do a more formal introduction of our staff for those of you out there who may want to place a face to the name
Here at RP we are an official team of 9! With 4 official shoot teams available to cover events near and far. Along side of all of us is Terri who guides us along the way with her good wisdom and wonderful sales back ground in which helps our marketing and branding efforts. And the absolute best part about her is not only that she has become a dear friend, but that she is the mother of one of our past brides.

Team two is husband and wife, Benjamin and Jessica our Senior Associate shoot team with whom is expecting a little one in July! And we are all totally thrilled about the little man’s arrival! Jess and Ben have been with us going on almost 2 years now!
Husband and wife, Ryan and Mackenzie are our third Associate shoot team. We cannot be more thrilled to have them on board with us! Ryan also works in the RP Studio Mon-Fri from 9am until 4pm and holds the title of “Portrait Studio Sales Manager”.
Next is Associate Sunny who brings with him skills and talent all of his own. In addition to his own weddings Sunny will also be helping out with stepping in for Jessica as she heads off for maternity leave in July.
Last, but not least is Associate Jitu who can often be seen tag teaming with Ben and Jess on some of our rather large Indian events. We are honored to have him aboard the “RP Team” as well.
What a session this was! Adventurous and yet so much fun as we were able to talk Meg and Chris into coming out to the studio in Warrenton for some quick ;-P engagement session photos. Well kind of, sort of, maybe not quick, but definitely adventurous that is for sure…
Chris is home on spring break from VMI and the two of them appear to be wrapping up final wedding details as time permits and fortunate for us they were able to squeeze in a little “RP” time with their ever so grateful photographers!
We started off with Chris only having his uniform and what he wore to the session in which totally was not agreeing with Meg, after a quik errand and a little of our “RP” pressing/ironing skills he was “RP Double Date” ready in no time and Meg, Chris, Srinu and I all hit the streets to get some shots of the both of them before the daylight was a totally a miss. Afterwards we had a little bit of portrait time with the ever so photogenic PUG puppy that Meg is keeping for a short time for her boss till he gives the little darling to his daughter for Easter! The puppy may have out done everyone as he turned out to be the little “Poser”!
Thanks Meg and Chris for taking time out of your busy schedules to join us, we are anxiously awaiting to spend your wedding day with you!
Laura and Matt have an upcoming wedding at the Omni Shoreham in June and as it appears they are so very ready to say their “I Do’s”. Their long engagement and months of counting down will finally be paying off! They flew in from Denver to take care of some pending visits with their tasting and luckily us too! Unfortunate as it was that the rain decided to accompany us (SO yes! In the rain we were!), but I think Laura totally rocked it in her super cute dress and pumps…
We hope that your tasting with the Omni went well and your visit to the area was productive… as you are most aware we cannot wait to photograph your wedding at the Omni as it is certainly a fabulous venue especially the outdoor location where your wedding will (keeping our fingers crossed ~XXXXX~) be taking place! May you both have had safe and happy travels back home, see you soon!
The Yoga Queen herself! We should have let her work off the wedding through toning us up! And de-stressing our mind, body and soul! We could so use it! Needless to say she just looks fabulous… just in time for her wedding which some “RP Favs” will be posted within the next two days, as her and Brian officially tied the knot on 3.21.09! More to come of the fabulous Mariska so stay tuned! Oh and Brian … let’s not forget the dancing “King”…. Boy has he has got some moves!
Not only is Dr. Jakum simply one of the best, his family is the all around small town crew! Erin, Dr. Jakum (Josh) and the kids all came out to the studio this past weekend for some much needed and well deserved portraits! Those of us who live in this small town most likely know Dr. Jakum and would agree that he deserves much love for all his endless time in our community with our kids!
In return and on the flip-side many of us don’t get to see the other side of Dr. Jakum the side that Erin sees as Josh! Well we won’t disappoint you as it is just the same as in the office! Outgoing, loving, nurturing, caring, compassionate and such a wonderful father and husband as if any of us had a doubt, right! His kids Ethan, Adam and Amelia were such a pleasure to photograph and a joy to have visit the studio! We are hoping that Dr. Jakum and his family make many more debuts on our blog in the future!
