UPDATED: New Video – RP “After Shoot” Anyone?

Anyone ever put a little thought into an “After Shoot”? Well we do an awfully lot here at Regeti’s as we have so much fun with our couples who opt for one of these shoots after their big day. It is more or less a time where we can have fun, be overly creative and let our couples think the unimaginable, creating images that they would have never dreamed of doing on the actual wedding day attire. It often starts as a conceptual shoot and takes flight from there, sometimes literally!

As three girlfriends signed up together we had an awesome time traipsing around town capturing shot after shot of the craziness throughout the whole day. Starting from the early morning with Remona and her girls on the hair and make-up, Bill and Cara with Suburban Video who stayed with us all day up until 11pm until all their coverage was complete and the entire RP Team endlessly shooting till they dropped. LINDA MERRITT!!!! How could we ever forget her as she is always there when we need her with her wonderful bouquets! Thank you, Linda!

Thanks to all the girls for being such good sports and doing whatever was asked of them even if it meant endangering their own lives standing next to and chasing after moving and rumbling trains! It was a blast, everyone who participated had so much fun!

Trice’s photo debut… drumroll please… for this little ROCK STAR!

We thank Steele ever so much for sharing her little man with us for a little bit today! Through slides and hayrides we had a bundle of fun with her little one! Trice was certainly on stimulation overload as he got to enjoy every thing amazing that happens and lives on a farm, although the hayride through the mud had to be on the top of his list of favorites ensuring that he will remember the Regeti’s for a lifetime!

Having four of our own it bring’s us great joy to take photos of little ones as we know how important it is to document their growth because before you know it they are going to be heading off to college as we as parents sit back asking where the time went? I felt that more than anything last night at my Aunt Jo’s 60th b-day party. I remember when I was thirteen myself and people I had not seen for sometime would say, “I remember when you were only this tall.” and here I am to my cousins children saying it all over again. History goes on repeating itself in this crazy undying cycle we call life, can’t help but want to treasure every moment you can of it. We hope Steele continues to give us the opportunity of watching Trice grow. It was great spending time with you this afternoon Trice!

Sapna and Binder, oh my, a little girl!

We had the honor and pleasure of photographing the baby shower of Sapna and Binder as they anticipate the arrival of their little girl on January 17, 2010! Pink, pink every where there was pink! They had these awesome little favors that were dresses and held silver Ganesh coins hidden underneath. I thought we would tease Jag (Binder’s brother) and dress him up in one to blog, but we thought we will let him slide today as I have already harassed him enough, barely earning myself rights to his confirming me as a friend on Facebook! But thankfully any friend of Srinu’s is a friend of Jag’s so I just got lucky! Binder, I am awaiting the setup of your new FB account as Jag is uninvited right…?

Joking aside! I think that that there was a switch up as they so should have been my brother’s! We love you guys and could not wish you anything less then the best of all the love, peace and happiness the world has to offer, oh and exercise, before you know it that little on is going to be running circles around you while wrapping her Uncle Jag very tightly around her teeny tiny pinky finger! I am sure she is already practicing in there! Best wishes to you and your families!

I forgot to mention what a great job Kalindi & Paresh Shah (Sapna’s Sister and Brother in Law) and Mr. & Mrs. Bhatt (Sapna’s Parents) did with putting together and hosting this awesome baby shower!

Rain, rain go away Debbi and Phil want to play!

Since the rain refused to subside we decided to head out anyway to try to save what was left of the day before Phil had to head to work. Trying to capture what was left of the Fall before Debbi was to head off to Ireland. Not sure how she can stay away from Phil and his accent as one could just listen to him talk all day! But then who doesn’t love a man with an accent!

Sorry Debbi and Phil for the delay in getting these posted, but we thought we got some great ones even with the rain! We cannot wait to photograph your event here at the Black Horse Inn in April of 10! It’s going to be a fun one, especially with Amaryllis on the florals, girls got taste! Halloween 2009: Why is everyone calling me “Dorothy” ?

Many of our curious clients are just dying to see… as they ask “What will the Regeti’s kids be?” This year we left the neighborhood for a much needed get-a-way and went to see Mumum, Nanny and Pop-Pop for Halloween! They tend to get all crazy and dress up, Nanny most often as a “Witch” and Pop-Pop the “Great Magician” always stealing the show! Bhavika (Dorothy below.) was so adorable as she kept coming back saying to us “Why is everyone calling me Dorothy?” it was so cute to hear her say that because she has only seen the “Wizard of Oz” maybe 2 times in her whole 5 years of life. Unfortunately, for us this may be our last year to really be able to sway her as to what to dress up as before she determines it on her own. These days as we watch our children grow like weeds and all the time slip away from us we cannot help but try to absorb all the moments we possibly can, one of them being “Halloween, Trick-or-Treating”. After being at the studio this morning from 9-12pm with our studio “BOO! WHO ARE YOU!” sessions we were ready to come home and start the day with our little ones.

This is a poem we wrote for our kids hoping that once they are grown and go back through the blog to reflect they will be able to know how very much we love every single moment we have had as their parents:

Quickly these days are going to fade,
while new ones are made.
Eager to watch our little ones grow,
saddened when it starts to show.

As their light begins to shine so bright,
we as parents will always long for just one more night.
The pleasant greeting in the mornings and afternoons,
once they arrive home from school,
eager to share their knowledge from the day.

One day right after the other soon it is that we discover,
it is us as parents who will undyingly love each one of them
forever.

Show Lily and Jeff your Poker Face!

What an AWESOME ~ AWESOME ~ AWESOME wedding this was! Not only was it because Lily and Jeff certainly win an award of some type for having one of the most original wedding receptions that we have ever seen, but they raised over $3K from their wedding reception and donated all of it to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Now tell us that aint’ AWESOME! Add a little bit of the Wedding Wire team to it and you bet it was one hell of a bash! Talk about partying like no bodies business… this will be logged in the history of Regeti’s most unique! But of course with Jeff being the CTO of Wedding Wire we would not have expected anything less out of the two of them as for any of you who have ever been to the Wedding Wire office even though there is some serious business and growth happening over there that team likes to party!

Lily and Jeff… so where do the Regeti’s start in about Lily and Jeff outside of Lily stalking us on cruise ships and chasing after us with hotdogs Unfortunately we did not have an e-session with Lily and Jeff, but we were ever so lucky to have been referred to them by our amazing past bride Mrs. Daisy (Big kisses to her for the wonderful referral!) who we also were able to see again during Jeff and Lily’s wedding as well. Â These two will be in our hearts forever as their personalities and generosity just gleams through. Jeff is totally the quieter one while at the same time as odd as it may sound is very outgoing. Lily exuberates this awesome energy to everyone around her just by smiling at you (obvious from the photos below that she is totally infectious!). There would be days that Lily would just send us random drive by emails that would brighten up my day as she thought about something or had a question to ask. With all the planning and preparations her day went off pretty flawless and we were so happy that in the end they heeded our advice about their photos as we certainly have a few keepers Oh and Sunny (Yep that Officiant hiding back there is Mr. Sunny Ganguly) his very first time performing a wedding ceremony! Who better to do it then a good friend, right? He was awesome, better than any we have seen till now big recommendations for his services, we hope Lily gives him an awesome review on Wedding Wire!

Lily and Jeff with all that aside we just want to let you know that we were truly honored that you chose Srinu and I to photograph your wedding, we know and understand that there are a lot of talented photographers in the Metro area, but we were graced with the honor and that truly does mean so much to us. We wish you both a very long, happy and very prosperous life together… as we approach our 10 year wedding anniversary we can truly say that with every year the love gets stronger and the years so much better! Keep in touch, we love you guys!

Top 25! (#1) of 2010 … Jared and Jennifer

As many of our viewers know we only take 25 weddings a year although our studio does up to 75 in a given year between all three of our husband and wife shoot teams. It is our pleasure to blog our first wedding that will start off the new year of 2010, that of Jared and Jennifer!

What more could we ask for going into our new year of events but to kick it off with their big wonderful celebration of love??? We tend to worry a little when we don’t meet the bride and groom at the consultation as we get concerned about whether they like having their photos taken (Not this couple! Jennifer and Jared were just haming it up for us!) and often enough when the brides not present we are not always comfortable blocking off the date as we just aren’t sure sometimes as to whether photography is a top priority. Well for Jennifer and Jared we just fell in love with Jennifer’s parents and hit it off almost immediately making it impossible not to be totally SUPER EXCITED about their wedding day before even meeting the happy couple. Thanks to mom and dad we were able to see photos of the two of them on mom’s phone to confirm just how photogenic they truly are.

As we met up with Jared and Jennifer at the Four Season’s in Georgetown Jennifer was equipped with a wardrobe to last her through the rest of the month on through half of November! Gladly enough we were able to reduce it to two selections. It was awesome to hear how the two of them were ultimately childhood friends who became best of friends to finally becoming life partners and “Best Friends Forever”, it is truly a novel in the making From the House of Sweden to Starbucks (Jennifer loves Starbucks while Jared would much rather have some good old D&D (Dunkin Doughnuts) coffee, but as love so has it he happily waits in the line to make Jennifer happy!) onto M Street and back to the Four Season’s we all had a wonderful time getting to know one another as we laughed the whole evening away… very well making their e-session one of the longest ever with the Regeti’s, it was an absolute PLEASURE to meet and photograph the two of you today!

Jill, Scott and Kendall at the Pumkin Patch!

Long time waiting! It seems like forever since we spent time with Jill and Scott. Now to see Kendall getting so big and Jill and Scott as parents it is so funny that they are on the flip side of things! Don’t we remember the first one and now we sit and watch all four of them interact with one another and go from being the world’s best of friends to sibling rivalry! Parenting is certainly the one thing in our lives that we would never change… sure if we had a second chance we would change a few things that we have done, but all in all I think we are on a path to succeed!

We so miss you guys and cannot wait for the day when you move back here with us. It was great laughing about the “back when’s” and talking about the “wait until’s”, but it was just wonderful to catch up with old friends. Here are some photo’s that we took of the three of them while venturing off into the “Pumpkin Patch” in Chantilly (I think!). Kendall was hysterical to watch as he pushed himself through all the pumpkins trying to lift each one up till finally he found a couple his own size to throw around!
