Sindhura and Bhanu were wed at the Foxchase Manor in Manassas. On very short notice after being approached by Satish Vemana, one of Srinu’s college buddies from India, we were asked of our availability for Sindhura’s wedding and luckily we were available!

It’s always a pleasure photographing events that are full of great things… the food, friends, family, culture, tradition and did I already mention food? Oh my, the food at this wedding was AMAZING… provided by Satish Vemana’s very own Touch Indian Cuisine in Fairfax (They cater weddings too ladies!). The Mandap and Decor was that of Yaddein who did an amazing job!

It was good to see some old faces as well as meet a few new ones too. We are looking forward to our next Telugu function for sure, there is just something so genuine about each one of them!

Congrats to the newly weds!

Reena and Karun were married at the fabulous Westfield’s Marriott in Chantilly. Kick starting their events was a wonderful entertaining of their guests at Bombay Tandoor followed the next day by an entertaining Sangeet/Mehendi party at Reena’s parents placed catered by the awesome and talented yummy treats of Rangoli out of South Riding.

But the most fabulous part was truly the beauty of their outdoor wedding on the terrace of this beautiful and enchanted venue. Although Westfields Marriott would be known as a Conference Center at best, it truly is a wonderful place to hold an outdoor wedding!

It was great to see many old faces to include Dr. Jassal (Our dentist when we were in Fairfax!), whom we have known for years and love as well as spend time with both Karun and Reena’s fun filled families. May you both be blessed in everything that you do!

August 7th was a beautiful day for a garden ceremony and tented reception at the beautiful Morven Park in Leesburg, Virginia. For us this was the first fully air conditioned tented reception (Pulled off in part by the ever so popular Pamela Barefoot provided by Sugar Plum Tents!) The lovely floral designs were that of the talented Holly Chapple Flowers. And the band that kept the floor packed by none other than Bialek’s Music.

It was a pleasure to work with everyone once again. There was no detail not covered during this event, execution was flawless. We enjoyed sharing in the celebrations as the guests danced the night away!

Big hugs go out to Joshua for helping us on yet another fabulous event!

After a week of celebrations finally it was their day! Mohit and Nisha are finally getting married!!! With a team of 5 we dispersed and photographed all of the events throughout the day that were coinciding. Srinu, Ryan, Josh, Paul and I right from the morning were inebriated in all of the wonderful scent, sounds and rituals that were taking place throughout morning till evening.

We even saw a few old faces and met a few new ones. As always it is such a pleasure to spend time with those whom we truly feel like we are family. The warmness from that of the Gilotra and Aggarwal families were overwhelming and very much appreciated. Is was both and honor and pleasure to have been hired to document Nisha and Mohit’s wedding celebrations.

To those we worked along side many of thanks go out to you for your love and support as a team in making their wedding a fabulous one!

Paul, Josh and Ryan who without you guys coverage would not have been the same! Bill Bowen and Ian over at Suburban with their talent. Moghul Catering for the fabulous food and treats! Rachel over at the Gaylord for her attentiveness and ability to caterer to everyone’s need, she certainly is a multi-tasker! Lastly Preeti Verma for the beautiful decor that she provided all around, simply stunning it was!

A day leading up to the formal celebrations of Mohit and Nisha’s wedding! The Haldi and Mehendi are rather informal events that both families share in as they prepare for the wedding day itself.

Weddings in India are considered to be a sacred and sanctified ritual. They are long ritualistic and elaborate affair with lots of pre-wedding, wedding, post wedding ritual.

The haldi ceremony is said to remove any nervousness from the groom, as well as, bless the couple with fortune and prosperity. Turmeric, a natural exfoliate, is applied to the bride’s face so she will have radiant skin for her wedding day. After the paste is allowed to dry the bride and groom shower and emerge glowing and ready to be married. During this time the ladies will gather and sing folk songs around the dholki and food and drinks usually follow the bride and groom’s re-entrance to the function.

The occasion of the Mehendi ceremony is one of the most important pre-wedding rituals. It is fun a filled ritual, which is celebrated mainly by the bride’s family. Different regions of the country celebrate the ritual in a different way according to their own marriage customs, rituals, and culture. The celebrations also depend on the wealth and status of the people. The bride’s family celebrates Mehendi party for gathering bride’s friends and relatives for blessing the bride as well as for amusement.

The ceremony is mostly held at bride’s place or sometimes in a banquet hall on the eve of the marriage ceremony or few days before the marriage. On this occasion a professional henna/mehendi designer or some relative applies mehendi to the bride’s hands and feet. There are few places in India where it is a ritual that the first motif of henna or mehendi is applied by the bride’s sister-in-law whereas there are some places where the first mehendi motif is said to be auspicious if applied by bride’s mother.

As per Kama Sutra, henna is one of the sixty-four arts of women. Popular motifs of the bridal mehendi are conchshell, flowers, Kalash, peacock, doli and baraat patterns. The intricate motifs of the bridal henna also hide the husband’s name. It is said that the husband’s name in the intricate henna motifs is made for the groom who has to find out his name in his bride’s mehendi as an evidence of his sharp eyes and active brain to impress his girl.

An evening of food, fun and family! Simply put. The weather could not have been any more in their favor on this fine day. It was perfect for outdoor cocktails and firing up of the tandoor! Drinks and food were flowing as guests enjoyed in the breeze and conversation at the Bolger Center. Family and friends joined together to bless these two as they were about to embark on their upcoming wedding. Preeti Verma from L’Ambiance was in charge of the stunning decor and it turned our lovely! It was an evening to remember as the family partied into the night.
